ESG Consultant (Roaster)
KEMMCOM is seeking a skilled ESG Consultant who will be critical in providing strategic guidance and expertise on ESG-related matters, helping organisations align with global standards and local contexts. This role involves conducting ESG assessments, identifying risks and opportunities, and advising on strategies to enhance environmental, social, and governance performance.
Analyse and identify ESG needs, priorities, and risks in Ethiopia.
Conduct comprehensive research and assessments to understand the ESG landscape, including relevant policies, regulations, and societal dynamics in the country.
Develop ESG strategies, frameworks, and action plans tailored to clients’ needs and aligned with international standards.
Provide strategic guidance and recommendations on environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and governance best practices, with consideration of the Ethiopian context.
Support ESG reporting by preparing detailed reports, metrics, and disclosures that communicate findings and progress effectively to stakeholders.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of ESG initiatives, identifying successes, gaps, and areas for improvement.
Stay updated on emerging ESG trends, regulations, and industry standards, and integrate relevant knowledge into the project.
Deliver capacity-building programs and workshops to strengthen client understanding and adoption of ESG practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure ESG strategies are integrated into broader project goals and objectives.
Manage project timelines, deliverables, and quality standards while balancing multiple tasks and priorities.
Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, Business, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in ESG consulting, sustainability, or related fields.
Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting methodologies.
Familiarity with Ethiopia’s regulatory landscape, governance structures, and environmental and social challenges.
Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to gather and synthesise complex information into actionable ESG recommendations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in local Ethiopian languages is a plus.
Detail-oriented with exceptional organisational and project management skills.
Experience delivering ESG assessments, reports, or capacity-building initiatives.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience working on ESG projects in Ethiopia or similar contexts is highly desirable.
