SBCC Consultant (Roaster)
KEMMCOM is seeking a skilled Social and Behavioural Change Communication (SBCC) Consultant who will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and evaluating communication strategies aimed at driving behavioural and social change across various sectors. This role involves designing evidence-based communication campaigns, conducting stakeholder engagement, and ensuring that interventions are aligned with project objectives and impact assessment frameworks.
– Develop and execute SBCC initiatives, working closely with internal teams and external partners.
– Conduct research on audience segmentation, behavioural insights, and stakeholder mapping to inform campaign strategies.
– Design effective communication materials and multimedia content, ensuring messages resonate with target audiences.
– Provide technical support in integrating SBCC approaches into existing programmes and policy frameworks.
– Monitor and evaluate communication interventions, applying evidence-based methodologies to assess impact.
– Facilitate training sessions and capacity-building workshops for partners, community stakeholders, and government agencies.
– Ensure project activities adhere to relevant ethical, cultural, and regulatory standards.
– Manage multiple priorities, ensuring timely completion of deliverables under tight deadlines.
– Carry out any other duties assigned by the Head of the Communications Practice Area and/or CEO.
Master’s degree in Communications, Public Health, Social Sciences, Journalism, Marketing, Behavioural Science, Development Studies, or a related field with a focus on behavioural change communication strategies.
– Proven experience in designing and implementing SBCC strategies.
– Strong background in development communication, advocacy, social mobilisation, or media campaigns.
– Experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research to inform behaviour change interventions.
– Proven ability to develop policy briefs, reports, and case studies.
– Knowledge of digital and social media strategies for behaviour change communication.
– High level of cultural awareness, with experience working across different communities in Ethiopia.
– Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies and civil society organisations.
– Fluency in English and Amharic; additional local language proficiency is an asset.
